Default views

A default view is the view users see when they open the database for the first time. Each database has a default view, which appears with an * (asterisk) in the Views list.

The default view typically has unrestricted access and contains all documents in the database, sorted by category, by date, or by author. In the IBM® Lotus® Domino® Designer templates, the default view usually includes all documents in chronological order and shows main documents associated with responses or supporting documents.

To specify the default view, use the option "Default when database is first opened" in the Options tab of the View Properties box.
