Deploying the IBM Connections Mail Plug-in

The IBM® Connections Mail Plug-in can be integrated into IBM Connections to let users use their inbox and view their calendar in Connections.

To install the IBM Connections Mail Plug-in, you must have the following software installed:

  • Connections 5.0
  • Microsoft Exchange or IBM Domino® mail server (or one or more of each)
  • A directory
  • An environment secured with a supported single-sign on solution. SPENGO or LTPA are best, but IBM Tivoli® Access Manager and Computer Associates’ SiteMinder are also supported. If you use Tivoli Access Manager or SiteMinder, ensure that you use the following procedures: Enabling single sign-on for Tivoli Access Manager and Enabling single sign-on for SiteMinder
    Note: If you previously enabled single sign-on for Tivoli Access Manager, you must re-configure. During step 15c of Enabling single sign-on for Tivoli Access Manager, add connectionsmail.interService.href to the list for application_interService_key.

To ensure smooth completion of the installation, it is important that the environment is configured correctly.

After you download and install the Connections Mail Plug-in, you must complete configuration tasks before the Connections Mail Plug-in is ready to use.
