This section describes how to manage events, including
how to record and play back events, view events with the Common Base
Event browser, and handle event sequencing.
Managing recorded events
You can view all recorded events by a specific model, delete
events, export events to a file, and import events from a file into
your IBM Business Monitor database.
Using the Common Base Event browser to view Common Base Events
To monitor Common Base Events in a production environment,
you must manually install the Common Base Event browser binary files
supplied with IBM Business Monitor and
enable the event data store.
Event sequencing
When a set of events is sent to IBM Business Monitor from
the same event producer, such as an instance of a process, it is typically
important that the events be processed in the order in which they
were produced. Events can erroneously be delivered to a monitor model
in the wrong order for several reasons, such as asynchronous event
emission and network delays. For models where event order is important,
incorrect event sequence order can result in model processing exceptions
and incorrectly calculated data. IBM Business Monitor has
a mechanism for putting the events back into the correct order for
processing.
Managing failed events using scripts
You can manage failed event sequence instances in the wsadmin
scripting client by invoking the operations provided by the FailedEventSequenceManager
managed beans (MBeans).
