You can benefit from the High Availability Disaster Recovery
(HADR) function when you connect to the built-in DB2® database (IBM® ODM Database
component) or to an external DB2 database
(External IBM ODM Database component).
About this task
When you enable DB2 for
HADR, you add a standby database for the case the primary database
node fails.
This feature requires IBM Transactional
Database Pattern version 1.1.0.8.
Procedure
To add DB2 for
HADR function to an application pattern, complete the following steps.
- In the Virtual Application Builder window,
click the IBM ODM Database component or the External
IBM ODM Database component, as appropriate, in the canvas.
- In the case of an External IBM ODM Database component, make sure the database type DB2 is selected in the right panel.
- Check Configure HADR. Expand
the Configure HADR option, if necessary, to
see the available parameters.
- Configure the parameters for the standby database of the
External IBM ODM Database component.
- In the case of the built-in IBM ODM Database component,
check the option Enable HADR in the right panel. PureApplication
System automatically creates
the standby database.
- Save the pattern.
- Deploy the pattern.
Results
DB2 for HADR support
is enabled for the pattern. When the pattern is deployed, you can
access the database from the virtual machine that is running in the
virtual application instance.
