Preparing for IBM mail support for Microsoft Outlook

Download the software. Optionally, install it for your users. Only administrators (users with the Administrator role in their IBM Connections™ Cloud account) can download the software. If you don't want users to install the software themselves, you can use on-premises tools to install for them. Download the IBM Mail Add-in package from the IBM® Software Downloads site. For more information on downloading software, see the topic Downloading entitled software.  
Be aware of the Microsoft Outlook client limitations. This information can help with troubleshooting. Known limitations and restrictions  
Open the firewall ports that are required for IBM mail support for Microsoft Outlook. Ports 443 must be open to allow HTTPS connections to the service via Microsoft Outlook. Configuring the firewall for outbound connections

If you use federated identity authentication, ensure that your login form complies with the requirements that enable users to log in automatically, without providing a password. If the form does not meet the requirements, the automatic-login feature does not work. Login form requirements for automatic login with federated identity authentication.  
Understand which option to select to enable IBM mail support for Microsoft Outlook subscriptions for your users. Knowing the name ensures that the correct subscription is added. Select the MS Outlook Access add-on subscription. You can enable this subscription when you provision users for SmartCloud Notes. Or you can add the subscription to the user account after provisioning is complete.
