After you install and configure your single-server FileNet® P8 environment, you can use
the Content Platform Engine Health
Page and the Workplace XT or the IBM® Content Navigator application to verify
the success of your installation.
Procedure
To verify the installation:
- Check the Content Platform Engine installation
by accessing the ping page and the health page:
http://ce_server:port/FileNet/Engine
http://ce_server:port/P8CE/Health
Verify
that all status indicators on the Content Platform Engine Health page are green.
- Verify the IBM Content Navigator. Open a web
browser and enter a URL with the following format: http://host_name:port_number/context_root.
By default, the context root is navigator.
- Install any open-source LDAP browser, such as JXplorer or LDAP
Admin. Use the browser to verify the Tivoli® Directory Server installation by checking
for user cn=P8Admin,o=sample. (Tivoli Directory Server is deployed during the
installation of Composite Platform Installation Tool.)
- Verify the DB2® for Linux, UNIX and Windows installation.
- Log in as any database user, for example, su
-dsrdbm01.
- Use this command to test the Content Platform Engine database connection: db2 connect to gcd_db user gcddbusr
- Verify the Tivoli Web Administration tool:
- Start the Tivoli Web Administration Tool by browsing
to http://LDAP_server_host_name:9080/IDSWebApp. LDAP_server_host_name is the server where
you installed the Composite Platform Installation Tool.
- On the console administration login page, enter the
following login credentials:
- User ID: superadmin
- Password: secret
- Add a new LDAP
server by specifying the name of the server where you installed the
Composite Platform Installation Tool and LDAP port number 389.
- Log out of the Tivoli Web Administration Tool.
- Log in to the new server that you added in substep c:
- Select the server from the LDAP Server name drop-down
list.
- Specify user DN cn=root and the Administrator
password that you specified during the installation of the Composite
Platform Installation Tool. (See the accounts.txt file
in the Composite Platform Installation Tool installation directory
for the URLs and credentials of each product in the single-server
system.)
- Check the Directory Management section
of the navigation (left) pane and verify that it contains the users
and groups that were created in the directory server.
- Verify the Workplace XT installation:
- Access the following URL:
http://cpit_server:9080/WorkplaceXT
- Log in with the credentials provided in
install_path/IBM/cpit/accounts.txt.
- Use Workplace XT to browse, search, add a document and view the
Tasks page.
- Open Process Designer.
- After you have verified that your installation is successful,
delete two installation directories to free up space on your server. Delete the following directories:
- install_path/IBM/cpit/decompressed
- The download directory you created for the installation packages,
for example, Platform_Downloads.
