The Installation and Installing topics provide general preparation, planning, and security information for all platforms. The topics also provide installation instructions for distributed systems, common problems and solutions, and the names and locations of the installation log files. Verification programs on Linux on x86 and Windows are also provided.
- If you want to establish a simple installation on a Windows system, and you have only a primary MQ installation, run the Launchpad; see Installing by using the Windows Launchpad.
- If you want to install a more complex setup with components in nondefault locations, or to install multiple copies at different levels, run the individual component installers:
- If you want to perform a silent installation of all components on a Linux or UNIX system, see Installing IBM Integration Bus components and prerequisite products by using the sample script file.
- If you are installing on z/OS®, the equivalent installation instructions are provided in the Program Directory that is supplied in hardcopy with your product media.
- If you are a WebSphere® Application Server user, and want to manage remote integration nodes, see Installing IBM Integration Administration for WebSphere Application Server.
The Installation and Installing topics do not cover configuration or customization tasks on any operating system; they describe only how you install the product components onto your computers. When you have completed installation on distributed systems, you must initialize the local environment before you can create or configure resources. This task is described in Setting up a command environment. Environment initialization is not required on z/OS. For information about designing and configuring your broker environment on all systems, see Configuring brokers for test and production environments.
