Running integrations in the cloud
To deploy an integration, upload a BAR file to IBM® Integration
Bus on Cloud, then start the integration.
Before you begin
- Complete IBM Integration
Bus on Cloud registration and log in with your IBMid. For more information, see Getting started.
- To use IBM Integration
Bus on Cloud, you
must first create an integration solution with supported resources
on premises, and package the resources into a BAR file. For more information,
see Creating a BAR file for IBM Integration Bus on Cloud.
About this task
When you upload BAR files into IBM Integration
Bus on Cloud, a list of integrations
is created. You can then start and stop those integrations, and view
information about them.
The first time that you log in to
your IBM Integration
Bus on Cloud space, you
click Upload BAR file to select a BAR file
to upload. After you have uploaded your first BAR file to create an
integration, you add more integrations by clicking Add
integration in the Integrations view.
Procedure
To deploy an integration to IBM Integration
Bus on Cloud, complete the following
steps.
- Click Upload BAR file or Add
integration.
- Locate the BAR file, then click Open.
Your BAR file is uploaded to your space. The BAR file
is also validated to ensure that it contains resources that are supported
for deployment to the cloud. If the BAR file is valid, its contents
are shown.
- By default, the integration has the same name as the BAR
file, but you can change the name and provide a description at any
point. To edit the name or description, click the text and edit it.
- If you do not want to secure access to HTTP and SOAP endpoints in your integrations, click OFF to disable basic authentication. For more information about basic authentication, see Basic authentication.
- To add this BAR file, click Save.
When the BAR file is ready, the integration is shown as "Stopped" in the Integrations view.
- To start the integration, click Start .
Results
When you start an integration, it is then able to accept
incoming messages. You can add more integrations in the same way.
The number of integrations that you can add and start depends on your
subscription type. The Integrations view lists all your integrations.
If you want to update the integration, stop and delete the existing integration, then upload an updated BAR file. The new integration has a different host name from the old integration.
What to do next

for it to process, see Calling integrations in the cloud.
- To stop or delete an integration, click Stop or Delete in the integrations
view. Alternatively, click the integration to view more information,
then click Actions and select Stop or Delete.
- To view log information for your integrations, in the History
and Logs section, click Download Runtime Log.
- To set up network connectivity so that your integrations can communicate with on-premises
applications, see Connecting securely to private endpoints.
