Completing the conversion of maps

After you have converted your WebSphere® Enterprise Service Bus XML maps to IBM® Integration Bus maps or XSL stylesheets by using the WebSphere ESB conversion tool, you might have to manually re-create some of your data transformations.

About this task

In IBM Integration Bus, you convert a WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus XML map by using the WebSphere ESB conversion tool.

You use an XML map to construct one or more messages, copy messages between data parsers, and transform a message from one format to another. While in IBM Integration Bus you use a Mapping node, in WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus you use a Business Object Map mediation primitive or a Mapping mediation primitive.

A number of constraints apply when you convert WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus maps into IBM Integration Bus resources. For more information, see XML maps.

WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus and IBM Integration Bus provide built-in transform types that you can use to construct your graphical maps. For more information, see Mapping transform equivalents between the Graphical Data Mapping editor and the WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus Graphical Mapping editor.
