Tips for Publishing Output to the Web

When publishing output to the Web, be aware of the following guidelines:

  • Web-ready content. Reports intended for paper delivery may not be suitable for the Web. For example, long documents with multiple tables are difficult to view because they require users to scroll the window; they also slow performance. For best results, avoid publishing documents with more than 10 tables, and follow general Web publishing guidelines.
  • Large tables. Publishing large tables (with tens of thousands of cells) generally takes some time, and may slow performance for other users during the time that the document is being published. Once published, viewing of large tables should be relatively faster.
  • Formatting. For best results, you may want to format your results for publication. For example, you may want to edit headings in the outline, and hide or delete titles and other elements to avoid cluttering the published report.
