SYSPRINT DD statement

z/OS MVS Product Management
SA23-1391-00

The SYSPRINT DD statement specifies a sysout class where all product usage reports produced by IBM® are written. Vendors using the usage report program to report their product's usage may use this DD statement or an alternate vendor DD statement for their reports. A data set name can be used instead of a sysout class. If you specify a data set name, the record format (RECFM) must be FBA, the logical record length (LRECL) must be 133, and the block size (BLKSIZE) must be any multiple of the logical record length. This statement is required.

Since SYSPRINT holds a variety of different reports, cutting and pasting the Software Usage Report out of SYSPRINT can be troublesome. To make things easier, you can use the optional SYSUSAGE DD statement to specify a separate sysout class where the Software Usage Report is written.
