DFSMShsm can utilize MEDIA5, MEDIA7, and MEDIA9 as input for all functions and additionally use MEDIA6, MEDIA8, and MEDIA10 with the ABARS function. The MEDIA5, MEDIA6, MEDIA7, and MEDIA8 tapes may be in either the EFMT1, EFMT2, EEFMT2, EFMT3, or EEFMT3 recording technology. The MEDIA9 and MEDIA10 tapes can only be in the EFMT2, EEFMT2, EFMT3, or EEFMT3 recording technology. The choice of the correct recording technology when they are mounted on a 3592-E06 will be transparent to DFSMShsm.
