Conversion of Tapes from D/T3490 to D/T3590 z/OS DFSMS Software Support for IBM System Storage TS1140, TS1130, and TS1120 Tape Drives (3592) SC23-6854-00 |

You can re-addvol partial D/T3490 tapes created by 3592-J1A drives to D/T3590 tapes associated with 3592-E06 unit names. The tapes will be marked full so the 3592-E06 drives do not try to extend them and they can only be mounted for input.
