Start and stop timers on Everyplace applications

Mobile workers need faster response from their applications when working remotely, and so the start and stop timers trigger combined features when you are working remotely. This way, mobile workers can start or stop work orders, and change their statuses, by simply clicking the Start Timer or Stop Timer icons.

On a mobile environment, the start timer starts the labor timer to track the amount of labor hours and sets the work order status to In Progress (INPRG). The stop timer stops the labor timer so the labor transaction is completed and changes the status of the work order to Complete (COMP).

Security settings for status change actions are applied to these features. If a user has no authority to place a work order in progress, and the labor timer is started, the status does not change.
Start Timer
The Start Timer icon starts the labor timer. To combine the start of the labor timer with its work order status change, in the Organizations application, you must select the Automatically change work order status to INPRG when a user starts a labor timer check box. If this check box is selected, the status changes to In Progress when the timer is started on a work order.
Stop Timer
The Stop Timer icon stops the labor timer. The mobile worker can also change the status to Complete by clicking the icon. You can define the default behavior of the confirmation window by setting, in the Organizations application, the By default, change the work order status to COMP when a user stops a labor timer check box. If this check box is selected, the status changes to Complete when the timer is stopped on a work order.
If you want to be able to override the automatic status change by clicking the Stop Timer icon, you must change the setup to display the confirmation window. In the confirmation window, select the Change work order status to Complete check box, which overrides the original setting made in the Organizations application.

You can display the confirmation window by selecting the System Settings action in the Organizations application. The Confirm time calculated by timer check box, under the Timer section, is marked by default which means that the window is always displayed to the user. If you choose to turn off the confirmation window, you cannot select the check box that confirms the status change.

If the confirmation window is not displayed, but the By default, change the work order status to COMP when a user stops a labor timer check box is selected in the Organizations application, the work order status is changed to Complete anyway.
