Geolocation of labor and crews

Geolocation uses various types of signals, such as the signal used by a mobile phone, to approximate the location of a user. You can enable the geolocation of labor and crews so that you can view maps to monitor their work and route progress.

Geolocation is enabled for labor and crews that have mobile devices access to Maximo® Everyplace®. For mobile devices that do not have access to Maximo Everyplace, you can enable geolocation by integrating the mobile devices with the LBSLOCATION table.

The following table describes the map geolocation symbols that might be associated with the labor and crews.
Table 1. Geolocation symbols
Symbol Description
Blue marker Indicates that the location data was refreshed was less than an hour ago. You can change the interval time between date refreshes in the mxe.lbs.lastupdate.tolerance system property.
Yellow marker Indicates that the location data was refreshed was over an hour ago.
Red marker Indicates that the location of the labor or crews is estimated to be outside of the defined radius. You can change the radius in the mxe.lbs.maximumAccuracy system property.
Blue radius marker Indicates the accuracy of the geolocation of the labor and crews. The smaller the radius, the more accurate the geolocation. If the accuracy is less than 2000 meters, then the image is not displayed.
