Installing a signed certificate for the Bandwidth Manager

The Bandwidth Manager installs with SSL enabled, using a self-signed certificate from IBM®. If you want to use a different certificate, you can import it into the keystore yourself.

About this task

Installing a signed certificate requires you to first request and receive the new certificate, before you can replace the original certificate with the new one.

  1. Requesting a signed certificate for the Bandwidth Manager
    Request a signed SSL certificate from the Certificate Authority.
  2. Receiving a signed certificate for the Bandwidth Manager
    To successfully receive a signed certificate from the Certificate Authority, the trusted root and intermediate root certificates from the certificate must be installed in the truststore on the server IBM WebSphere® Application Server.
  3. Replacing the default certificate on the Bandwidth Manager
    The IBM Sametime servers that run on IBM WebSphere Application Server install with SSL enabled, using a self-signed certificate from IBM. If you want to use a different certificate, you can import it into the keystore yourself.
