Clustering Sametime Video Managers

Clustering the IBM® Sametime® Video Manager consists of setting up replication and setting up and configuring the Video Manager load balancer.

  • Setting up Solid DB replication for a Video Manager server farm
    To facilitate the replication on a Solid DB server in the IBM Sametime Video Manager environment, use the configuration scripts that enable you to create the required nodes with the master replica topology for advanced replication in Solid DB. You specify information such as the required host name and node name, and the script registers nodes as a master or as replicas, and creates all necessary triggers and stored procedures. Run the scripts on any node and create the master or replica on any other node by providing the required host name or IP address as input to the script.
  • Setting up the Video Manager server load balancer
    The load balancer is installed with the IBM Sametime Video Manager and run locally on that node. The load balancer is clusterer for high availability and is fronted by an IP sprayer. All HTTP and SIP communications are processed through an IP sprayer which randomly selects a load balancer.
  • Exchanging certificates between nodes in a Video Manager server farm
    Each Sametime Video Manager node in a Video Manager server farm has a unique SSL certificate that must be exchanged with each of the other Video Managers in the server farm, as well as with the Conference Managers. Exchanging certificates ensures these servers can communicate as needed.
