Configuring Interact Spot portlet preferences

From Administration, you can configure portlet settings to include values for a single Interact interactive channel and audience level. The values that you provide for these settings apply to any Interact Spot added to a page.

About this task

If you want to display offers on your web site for more than one interactive channel or audience level, you can clone the Interact Spot portlet and enter different values for these settings. See the WebSphere® Portal documentation for instructions on how to clone a portlet.

Procedure

  1. Open the administration menu and go to Portlet Management > Portlets.
  2. In Manage Portlets, navigate to IBM Interact Spot or use the search to locate this portlet.
  3. Click Configure.
  4. Edit preferences related to interactive channel and audience level.
    emm_audience_level_attribute_name
Enter the name of the field that you added to the portal user profile for the Interact ID. You imported this value into a new attribute in the user profile in earlier steps. For example, you could name this field Interact ID.
    emm_anonymous_user_prefix
(Optional) Enter a string value in this field to use in the unique ID that is generated for an anonymous user. The value that you enter in this field is concatenated to the generated ID. In IBM Interact, the Interact administrator must reference this value in conditions set in flow chart branches.
If you do not want to configure the site for anonymous users, you can skip this field.
If the user profile table in IBM Interact does not use a string data type, you can skip this field.
Go to Displaying offers to anonymous users for more information.
    emm_audience_level_default_id_value
Optional: Enter a numeric value in this field if you want to display default offers to anonymous users. Numeric data types are not supported for Interact events for anonymous users.
