Removing the deployed FileNetEngine application

If you are upgrading an existing application server instance, you must remove the existing FileNetEngine application from the web application server to undeploy or uninstall the application EAR file. Removing the existing version ensures a clean deployment of the upgraded version of the Content Platform Engine EAR file.

Procedure

To remove the deployed FileNetEngine application:

Undeploy or uninstall the Content Platform Engine EAR file.
Option Description
WebSphere® Application Server Use the administrative console to undeploy the FileNetEngine application, Engine-ws.ear. The application server needs to be running when you undeploy the FileNetEngine application.
Oracle WebLogic Server Use the administrative console to undeploy the FileNetEngine application, Engine-wl.ear.
JBoss Application Server

For a standard deployment, remove the Engine-jb.ear file from the jboss_install_dir/server/server_name/deploy directory.

High availability farmed server environmentsFor a cluster deployment, remove the Engine-jbc.ear file from the jboss_install_dir/all/server_name/deploy directory on all the nodes in the cluster where Content Platform Engine is deployed.
