Completing the Process Engine upgrade (from version 5.1 or earlier)

The upgrade property files can be created interactively by using the peupgrade wizard. When you complete the wizard, review your values and exit the wizard. The upgrade starts automatically. The alternative is to create the upgrade property file by manually editing the upgrade property file and manually starting the upgrade. For upgrades from Process Engine version 5.0, create a property file and run the upgrade one time for each virtual server. Multiple copies of peupgrade can run simultaneously.

If the existing Process Engine uses the DBExecute feature, you must verify that an XA and non-XA JDBC Provider exist in the application server for the same database type as the DBExecute database. If they do not exist, you must create the JDBC provider in the application server before you run peupgrade.
