In most cases, instead of extracting a service half map
from your destination environment, it is easier to copy an existing
service half map from your source environment to use as an initial
destination service half map, which you can edit.
To create a service half map for the destination environment
from a service half map for the source environment:
- From the source environment, export the isolated region
configuration data.
- Extract the service data from the file that contains the
isolated region configuration data that you exported from the source
environment. See Extract
a service half map for instructions.
- Copy the service half map that is created for the source
environment:
- In the FileNet® Deployment Manager Tree
View pane, expand the Environments node and double-click a destination
environment.
- On the Overview tab, click the Retrieve Data toolbar
button for Service Data.
- In the Update Service Half Map dialog box, select From
an Environment's Service Half Map.
- Select the source environment from the drop-down list
box.
Tip: This environment is the one
for which you extracted the service data in step 2. Because you are
copying an existing service half map to create a service half map,
it does not matter which mode you select (Merge or Overwrite).
- Click Finish.
A
new service half map is created (HalfMap_Service.xml)
in the DeploymentTreeRootFolder\Environments subfolder
of the destination environment.
- Edit the content of the service half map to conform to
the destination environment configuration. For more information, see Edit a service half map
- Save the changes to the service half map by selecting Save from
the File menu.
- Save the additional changes to the service half map by
selecting Save from the File menu.
