Adding assets to an export manifest by using an SQL search

Within a single object store, you can search for assets to add to an export manifest by using a Content Platform Engine SQL query. The query can be built and saved in the IBM® Administration Console for Content Platform Engine as a saved search or can be directly submitted to FileNet® Deployment Manager.

Only searches against an object store can be used. The result of the query must be a single type of object that has a valid ClassDescription in the source object store. Make your search criteria as specific as possible to limit the number of objects found. By using specific search criteria, you can reduce processing, such as the Content Platform Engine processing that is required to check whether you have the requisite permissions to view each object.

The method that you use to add assets to the export manifest is not remembered in the export manifest. An export manifest that contains assets that are selected from search results can be extended with more assets that are chosen directly by navigating to the assets. Likewise, an existing export manifest that contains assets that are chosen by using navigation can be extended with more assets that are located by using an SQL search. An export manifest can also contain assets that are located by using several queries.

Tip: If an export manifest is refreshed, each asset is individually fetched from the object store. For a large export manifest that was originally generated by using an SQL query, it might be more efficient to create a new export manifest and rerun the saved search to regenerate the export manifest contents.
