Configuring ICN for use with Docs

To integrate IBM® Connections Docs with ICN (IBM Content Navigator), you must change your ICN configuration profile to include IBM CMIS (Content Management Interoperability Services). Make sure you have installed IBM Content Navigator 2.0.3 FP3.

Procedure

  1. Configure ICN for IBM CMIS for FileNet Content Manager.
    Note: In the ICN environment, by default the ICN profile is not configured to include the CMIS application. If you need help changing the ICN profile or creating a new one, see Creating a configuration profile .
  2. Configure IBM CMIS for Connections Docs.
    1. On the Connections server or FileNet server, locate the folder ${WAS_ROOT}\profiles\AppSrv01\installedApps\${CellName}\navigator.ear\fncmis.war\WEB-INF\classes and find the cmis.properties file. Add or revise the following properties:
      enableTeamspaceAwareness=true
      Note: Make sure the following properties are set:
      • cmisURI=http://${CMIS_SERVER}:${CMIS_PORT}         
      Where:
      • ${CMIS_SERVER} is the server name of the FNCMIS service. Usually it is the IHS.
      • ${CMIS_PORT} is the port of FNCMIS server. It could be ignored if ${CMIS_SERVER} is an IHS server.
    2. Repeat step 2a for all nodes.
    3. Restart the cluster of FNCMIS and FNCS.
  3. Install the Connections Docs extension on the object store:
    1. Open a browser and navigate to http://hostname:port/dm/jsp/addons.jsp. Then click Install.
    2. Navigate to http://hostname:port/acce. Install the add-on IBM Content Navigator 2.0.3 IBM Docs Extensions. Go to http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27044325 to view the instructions for installing add-ons.
  4. Grant users permission on the root folder:
    1. Navigate to http://hostname:port/acce.
    2. Access the object store by selecting it in the navigation pane.
    3. In the navigation pane for the object store, expand the Browse folder in order to reveal the root folder.
    4. Select Root Folder in the navigation pane.
    5. Select the Security tab.
    6. Click Add under Users and Groups.
    7. Search for #AUTHENTICATED-USERS, and add this group to the Selected Users and Groups section. Enter the following in the Permissions section:
      • Permission type: Allow
      • Apply to: This object only
      • Permission group: View Properties <Default>
    8. Click OK.
    9. Click Save on the Root Folder tab.
