Depending on how you configure the web application, IBM® Content
Navigator can connect to multiple
types of repositories from a single instance.
You can use IBM Content
Navigator to
connect to the following types of repositories:
- IBM Content
Manager
- IBM Content
Manager OnDemand
- IBM FileNet® P8
- Repositories that support the OASIS Content Management Interoperability
Services (CMIS) specification
Restriction: You should not use
IBM Content
Navigator to add documents larger
than 2 GB to your repository. If you need to add files that are larger
than 2 GB to your repository, consider using an alternative tool,
such as the Bulk Import Tool (
FileNet P8),
IBM Content
Collector, or
IBM Datacap.
Before you install IBM Content
Navigator,
you must understand how IBM Content
Navigator interacts
with your content repository.
This planning information assumes that you already set up any repositories
that you intend to use with IBM Content
Navigator.
Restriction: The total number of repositories
that you can connect to is limited to 400 repositories per
IBM Content
Navigator server, regardless of
type. If you connect to more than 400 repositories, you might experience
performance issues when you view and select multiple repositories
for administration tasks.
