If you want to enable users to access IBM® FileNet® P8 workflows from a desktop,
you must associate an IBM FileNet Content Manager repository
that is configured to access a Process Engine connection
point and configure the workflow settings on the desktop.
About this task
You must complete this task if you plan to
use custom or predefined workflows in IBM Content
Navigator.
Procedure
To configure a desktop to display IBM FileNet P8 workflows
- In the IBM Content
Navigator administration
tool, open the desktop for which you want to configure workflows.
- On the Repositories tab, add an IBM FileNet Content Manager repository that is configured
to access a Process Engine connection
point to the list of selected repositories.
- In the Layout section of the Appearance tab,
ensure that the Work feature is in the list
of selected features and specify the default repository for the Work feature.
- On the Workflows tab, select the
repository that is configured to access a Process Engine connection point and specify
which application spaces to display in the desktop. The
order of the selected application spaces determines the order in which
the application spaces are displayed in the web client.
Tip: You
can change the display name of the application spaces by specifying
new names in the Labels section of the administration
tool.
- Optional: In the Desktop configuration section
of the General tab, you can enable the desktop
for IBM FileNet P8 workflow notification. This setting enables users to open the web client from the URLs
that are included in email notifications that are generated by Process Engine. If you do not enable
this option for any desktops, users cannot log in to the web client
from the URLs in notifications. If you enable this option on multiple
desktops and more than one desktop meets the criteria that are specified
in the URL in the notification, the web client uses the first desktop
that matches the criteria.
Important: Users must configure
their notification preferences in the web client. If they do not configure
their notification preferences, they will not receive email notifications.
- Optional: You can customize the menus on the
desktop to include a Launch Workflow button
at the top of the IBM FileNet P8 Inbasket.
The Launch Workflow button enables users to
launch any workflow that they have access to without searching for
or browsing for the workflow. To customize the menu:
- Click the Menus tab and find
the FileNet work list toolbar option.
- Select the Default FileNet work list launch
toolbar option from the list of available toolbars.
- Click Save to save your changes
to the desktop.
