Accessing the IBM Content Navigator administration tool

The IBM® Content Navigator administration tool is integrated with the IBM Content Navigator web client. You can access the administration tool by logging in to the administration desktop.

About this task

The default IBM Content Navigator web client configuration includes an administration desktop that you can use to administer the IBM Content Navigator web client.

Tip: Work with your web server administrator if you do not know the host name and port number where IBM Content Navigator is deployed. You can store this information in the Worksheet for verifying your deployment.

If you have not configured multiple IBM Content Navigator administrators, you must log in with the IBM Content Navigator administrator name that you specified when you ran the task to update the database script for your environment. This information is also included in the Data source and database configuration worksheets.

Procedure

To access the administration tool:

Enter a URL with the following format: http://host_name:port_number/context root/?desktop=admin. By default, the context root is navigator.
Tip: The format of the URL can vary depending on your environment:
  • If you deployed IBM Content Navigator to a highly available cluster, the URL must point to the load balancing server: http://load_balancer_host_name:load_balancer_port_number/context_root/?desktop=admin.
  • If you are using SSL, the protocol of the URL is HTTPS: https://host_name:port_number/context_root/?desktop=admin.
  • If you are using Tivoli® Access Manager for Single Sign-On (SSO), the URL is http://TAM_server_name/context_root/?desktop=admin.
