Reading the contents of the health indicator settings

This topic describes the fields associated with the health indicator settings.

The Current health indicator settings field appears in the following windows:
  • The Instance Health Indicator Configuration window
  • The Global Health Indicator Configuration window
  • The Object Health Indicator Configuration window

The Factory health indicator settings field that appears in the Factory Health Indicator Settings window is similar except that it does not have a Default column.

Columns in the current and factory health indicator configuration fields

Category
Shows the different categories of health indicators. The list of health indicators under each category can be expanded or collapsed by using the navigation buttons in this column.
Health Indicator
Shows the health indicator name.
Default
Shows whether or not the health indicator is currently configured to its default settings.
Evaluate
Shows whether or not evaluation of the health indicator is currently enabled.
Warning
Shows the warning threshold level for the health indicator, if the health indicator is threshold-based. If upper-bounded or increasing, the warning threshold level must be less than alarm. If lower-bounded, the alarm threshold level must be less than warning.
Alarm
Shows the alarm threshold level for the health indicator, if the health indicator is threshold-based If upper-bounded or increasing, the warning threshold level must be less than alarm. If lower-bounded, the alarm threshold level must be less than warning.
Unit
Shows the unit associated with the value of the health indicator. This applies to threshold-based health indicators only.
Sensitivity (in minutes)
Shows the minimum length of time in minutes that a threshold-based health indicator must reach its threshold, or a state-based health indicator must be in a non-normal state, before an alert is generated.
Action
Shows whether or not the automatic running of actions upon alert generation is enabled for this health indicator. Use the Configure Health Indicator notebook to configure these actions.
Short Name
Shows the short name of the health indicator. The short name is used to identify the indicator when using the command line.
