IBM InfoSphere Federation Server, Version 10.5

Planning for IBM InfoSphere Federation Server installation

Configurations vary depending on the needs of an organization. Because of the many possible configurations, plan your installation in advance.

IBM® InfoSphere® Federation Server requires DB2® Database for Linux, UNIX, and Windows. You can choose to use an existing copy of a compatible DB2 Version 10.5 database system or allow the installation wizard to install a new copy of the bundled DB2 Server Edition Version 10.5.

IBM InfoSphere Federation Server supports both Non-DB2 relational data sources and nonrelational data sources.

The DB2 DRDA® and Informix® wrappers are bundled with and installed by DB2 Server Edition Version.

If you plan to access non-DB2 data sources, you must install and test all of the non-DB2 client software before installing IBM InfoSphere Federation Server.
