IBM InfoSphere Federation Server, Version 10.5

Installing ODBC drivers

The ODBC drivers allow you to access Microsoft SQL data from the federated server. You can install the IBM®-branded DataDirect ODBC driver, the DataDirect Technologies' DataDirect Connect for ODBC driver, or the unixODBC driver.

About this task

To avoid conflict with DataDirect Technologies products, the IBM-branded DataDirect ODBC driver does not support other applications.

On Windows operating systems, the Microsoft SQL Server wrapper uses the Microsoft SQL Server ODBC driver provided by Microsoft. On all other operating systems, the Microsoft SQL Server wrapper can use either the IBM-branded DataDirect ODBC driver or the ODBC driver provided by DataDirect Technologies.
