Federated systems impose some restrictions on LOBs.
The following restrictions apply to LOBs:
- The federated database is unable to bind remote LOBs to a file
reference variable
- LOBs are not supported in pass-through sessions
- LOBs are not supported as parameters of stored procedures
- LOBs in a Teradata nickname do not support write operations if
they are mapped from Teradata non-LOB columns (CHAR, VARCHAR,BYTE,
VARBYTE, GRAPHIC, VARGRAPHIC).
