High availability, backup, logging, resiliency, and recovery
enhancements
Version 10.1 includes
enhancements that help ensure that your data remains available.
HADR now supports multiple standby databases
The high availability disaster recovery (HADR) feature
now allows up to three HADR standby databases. A multiple standby
setup improves your ability to protect your data while still keeping
it highly available, all with a single technology.
HADR log spooling prevents spikes on throughput
HADR log spooling is a new feature that allows you to specify
additional space where logs can be spooled on the standby. This helps
avoid back-pressure issues on the primary caused by sudden spikes
in logging activity on the standby.
Replication improvements
Starting in V10.1,
replication is now supported at the schema level. This means that
any newly created table is set up for replication.
