Browser Reload widget
The Browser Reload widget can be used to set
a time interval whereby a dashboard containing the widget is reloaded
at specified intervals to avoid issues with browser-related memory
leaks.
When the browser is reloaded, the timer restarts and the browser reloads again when the timer reaches zero.
Important: The Browser Reload widget must not be confused
with the Refresh Timer widget. The Refresh Timer widget is useful
when data providers do not provide dynamic updates. The Refresh Timer
widget does not reload the entire browser. It can be used for dashboards
that are running on desktop or mobile devices. The Browser Reload
widget is not supported on mobile devices.
Note: The Browser Reload widget and the Refresh Timer widget are used
in different situations. The Refresh Timer widget is used more often
than the Browser Reload widget.
The reload interval is configured by an administrator with the Browser Reload widget in edit mode.
To reload the browser manually, and not wait for the timer to count down, click the reload icon. The reload icon varies depending on its the widget's configuration and the current countdown state:
- If a reload interval is not configured, the reload icon shows a curved arrow (). Click the reload icon to reload the browser.
- If a reload interval has been configured and the countdown has begun, the reload icon shows as a gray ring (). As the countdown progresses, the reload icon updates to indicate the progress of the countdown (). The icon updates in ten separate increments. You can place your cursor over the reload icon to view the exact time remaining to a browser reload.
