Application pages display content to users. To display content, the pages must be
populated with widgets.
Procedure
- Select the page that you want to add widgets to by using one of the following methods:
- Click the Layouts link in the header of the Application Builder administration tool, and then click the name of the page
that you want to add a widget to.
- From the application, click the Edit link on the widget or page that
you want to edit. From the end-user application, click
the Edit link on the widget or page that you want to edit. The applicable
configuration page opens in the administration tool. Edit links are visible only to administrators.
By default, Admin mode is set to on.
- Select a column configuration from the Choose column
configuration section.
Note: If a page has existing widgets and you change the column configuration to have fewer
columns, the widgets in the removed columns are returned to the available widgets box and not
displayed to the user.
- Create widgets as described in the Creating Widgets section of
the documentation. Existing widgets can be edited at any time by clicking the pencil icon that is
next to the widget name.
- Drag the widget to the column that you want to display the widget in.
Note: Widgets are rendered in the order that they are listed in for each column. If a widget has
display conditions that are not met when the page is rendered, it is not shown in the column and all
other widgets in that column are moved up.
- You can remove a widget from the display by dragging it into the Widgets
section.
- Click Save changes to save the application page.
- Once the page is saved, you can use the View page in app link on the
page to view the page as the current user in the application.
