Creating the z/OS SMF real-time data provider start procedure

Create the start procedure for the z/OS® SMF real-time data provider by updating the sample procedure GLASMF, which is provided in the sample library SGLASAMP.

Procedure

To create the z/OS SMF real-time data provider start procedure, complete the following steps:

  1. Copy the sample procedure GLASMF to a user procedure library.
    Tip: You can rename this procedure according to your installation conventions. Throughout this documentation, the name GLASMF is used to mean the z/OS SMF real-time data provider start procedure.
  2. Copy the sample job GLASMF to a user job library. If you previously submitted this job for the z/OS Log Forwarder, you do not need to resubmit it.
  3. Update the user copy of the GLASMF procedure according to the comments in the sample.
