To create a list of release environments on which to deploy
applications, you can import application environments from IBM® UrbanCode Deploy.
Before you begin
If you are importing application environments from
IBM UrbanCode Deploy,
set up a connection to the
IBM UrbanCode Deploy server.
About this task
Each release phase has one or more
release environments which
host applications. The release phases do not share environments. In
this way, the work for each phase is separate from the work in the
other phases. When you create the release, you assign environments
to the phases. The
Environments page shows
the list of available environments.
Procedure
Follow these steps to set up release environments:
- Click Environments. The Release
Environments list shows the available release environments,
and the Application Environments list shows
the environments that are available on the IBM UrbanCode Deploy server.
- To create a release environment, click Add Release
Environment. The release environments that
you add here are available to use in a release phase.
- Optional: Organize the application environments
by adding tags to them. You can create tags by going to
the Tags tab at the top of the Environments page
and clicking Add New. Then, you can apply tags
to application environments by returning to the Release
Environment Configuration tab, clicking the plus sign next to an application
environment, and selecting a tag.
- Add application environments to release environments by
clicking and dragging the application environment to the release environment. You can filter the table of application environments by typing
in the search boxes at the top of the table.
Each release environment
can contain any number of application environments, and application
environments can belong to more than one release environment. By adding
an application environment to a release environment, you include that
application environment in the systems that the release environment
represents.
What to do next
Now you can use these release environments for a release
phase. See
Creating releases.
