Abstract
To enable the Rational Collaborative Lifecycle Management Solution, you need to install a set of client access license keys. The CLM Professional client access licenses provide access to all of the capabilities provided by IBM Rational Team Concert, IBM Rational Quality Manager, and IBM Rational Requirements Composer. After you install the license keys, you can assign the licenses to users.

To install the client access activation key:
- From the Rational Support Licensing site (http://www-01.ibm.com/software/rational/support/licensing/), click the link to the Rational License Key Center. Download the activation kits for the Rational Collaborative Lifecycle Management Solution.
- Extract the contents of the CLM Professional .zip file to a new folder. For authorized user keys, the .zip file is named Jazz_CLM_Professional_Unlocked.zip . For floating keys, the .zip file is named Jazz_CLM_Professional-Floating_Unlocked.zip . If you use both authorized user keys and floating keys, extract the files to different folders.
Note the name and location of the activation key .jar file or files within this folder. The .jar file contains the client access activation key. Depending on the client access license that you purchased, you will find the following keys: - Rational Collaborative Lifecycle Management Solution - Authorized User

- Login to the Administration page of the Jazz Team Server with your Jazz administrative user account. You must be a member of the JazzAdmins group.
a. Start the Jazz Team Server if it is not already running.
b. Point your web browser to https://[fully-qualified-hostname]:9443/jts/admin.
c. When prompted, enter your administrative user name and password.
- Upload client access activation key or keys. For each key extracted in Step 1, install the key into the Jazz Team Server. Install the CLM_Professional_Unlocked.jar or the CLM_Professional-Floating_Unlocked.jar key files or both first because the other functional keys are dependent on them.
- On the Administration page, click the Server tab.
- In the Licensing section, click License Key Management.
- In the Client Access License Types area, click Add.
- In the Upload License Files wizard, in the Upload License Activation key field, click Browse and navigate to the client access activation key location (used in Step 1). Select the activation key .jar file and click Open.
- If the activation key requires that you specify the purchase count, enter the number of purchased licenses in the Purchased field. The purchase count needs to be entered for the CLM Professional and CLM Professional-Floating keys.
- Click Finish. The Rational Collaborative Lifecycle Management Solution client access activation keys have now been installed.
- Repeat Steps c through f for each key (.jar file) extracted in Step 2.
Note: If the functional keys (RTC - Build System, RTC - ClearCase Synchronizer, RTC - ClearQuest Synchronizer, and RQM - Connector) are installed already, then you will be installing replacement keys for the functional keys. The new functional keys contain the CLM prefix to the key type. Use the new CLM functional keys in all of your key assignments:
RTC - CLM Build System
RTC - CLM ClearCase Synchronizer
RTC - CLM ClearQuest Synchronizer
RQM - CLM Connector
Question: Do this CLM Professional licenses include other licenses like Analyst or Quality licenses?
Answer: The CLM Professional license is its own license that gives users access to all of the capabilities in the CLM products. See Table 1 at Client access license management overview.
