PJ40753: FILENET ENTERPRISE MANAGER PROPERTY INDEX SET/REMOVE BUTTON IS GREYED OUT

Error description

• FileNet Enterprise Manager (FEM) Property index set/remove
  button greyed out for user added by the WizUpdateOSSecurity.vbs
  security update script
  The ability to create a document property index is controlled by
  the ACL on the DocVersion TableDefinition object.  The
  WizUpdateOSSecurity.vbs security update script does not change
  this specific object when adding groups or users to the P8
  object store security.  When a newly-added administrator or
  group without Full Control rights on this object attempts to add
  a property index, the Property index set/remove button is greyed
  out, and therefore cannot add the property index.
  

Local fix

• A workaround is to add your group to the ACL of the DocVersion
  TableDefinition object manually:
  
  To add a security group to the ACL of the DocVersion
  TableDefinition object:
  1.  Log into FEM as an Administrator
  2.  Select the object store that you want to update
  3.  Right-click Search Results > click New Search
  4.  Set Select From Table = Table Definition
  5.  Set Table Name Equal To DocVersion, then click OK
  6.  Right-click on the resulting row (DocVersion TableDefinition
  object) and click Properties > Security tab
  7.  Click Add, then look up your group to add this group to the
  ACL.  Click OK
  8.  Verify that your group is set for Allow / Full Control and
  click OK
  All members of your group should now have the ability to add
  property indexes on the object store.  You will need to repeat
  this action on each individual object store.

Problem conclusion

• 5.1.0.3-P8CE-FP003 and higher will resolve this problem of the
  Index Set/Remove button being greyed out.  This is fixed by
  re-running the WizUpdateOSSecurity.vbs security update script to
  add your users or groups to have correct access to your P8
  object store security.  After this action is performed, your
  newly-added administrator or group without current Full Control
  rights on the DocVersion TableDefinition object will have rights
  to add a property index.
