OTHER BINARIES TO BUILD: YES (C) <sys>/obj/cctape.o (C) <sys>/load/CPS0.so COMMENTS: If the dump tape becomes unavailable while TPF is attempting to write out the first record for a dump that is contained in the dump buffer area then the recovery may repeatedly attempt to write that record to tape. Each time the record is retried an ECB is created to send message COSK0399I informing the operator of which tape the dump is being written to. This will deplete the system of resources resulting in a catastrophic CTL-64C00 dump. This behavior was caused because the SWB to write the DBA data was incorrectly classified when it was created.
SOLUTION: The CVTOPERBLK routine in copy member CEFE of CCTAPE has been updated so that the DBA write will not be marked as a bypass aux queue SWB. This will prevent the DBA write from being repeatedly attempted if there is an error on the tape. TPF will now wait until the tape switch occurs before attempting the write again. COREQS: NO None.
