Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All users of WebSphere Service Registry and Repository Server
    Version 7.5.0 and 8.0.0

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The profile management tool and WAS admin console deployment
wizard both prevent you from entering a database schema name
with more than 8 characters if you have selected a database type
of Oracle 10g or Oracle 11g.

Problem conclusion

  • The validation code has been amended to allow a 30 character
schema name when you select and Oracle database type. This is
now consistent with the 30 character limit of the Oracle
    database products.

Please note that you must unaugment and re-augment existing
deployment manager profiles for this change to take effect in
the WAS admin console deployment wizard. If you create a new
deployment manager profile, it will contain the change. The
following Infocenter page describes how you can unaugment a
    WAS profile:

    r.doc/twsr_profile_unaugment_manual.html

This fix is targeted for inclusion in fix pack 3 for WSRR v7.5
and fix pack 2 for WSRR v8.0.
