Problem conclusion
Microsoft Creators Update for Windows 10 (Build 1703) had a defect and native Windows API's did not work as expected. This Microsoft defect was affecting IBM Personal Communications and a fix was provided in IBM Personal Communications refresh pack 12.0.2.0. One of the fixes provided in the area of IND$FILE transfer code (PCSXFER.DLL module) caused the problem reported under this APAR. With the later Windows 10 Creators Update fixes, it has been found that the changes made in PCSXFER.DLL module are no longer necessary. Until the final fix is released by Microsoft, it has been decided to keep the PCOM fix, however, with a keyword in PCSWIN.INI configuration file. As part of this change, a new PCSWINI.INI keyword - bEnableCreatorsUpdateXferFix - has now been introduced. Default value of the keyword is 'N'. Setting the keyword to 'Y' enables the PCOM fix in pcsxfer module to take effect. We recommend this only when users notice "Send File To Host..." / "Receive File From Host..." options under "Actions" menu cause PCOM session to hang, on Windows 10 Creators Update environment. To set the keyword, please add the following to the end of PCSWIN.INI file: [Session] EnableCreatorsUpdateXferFix = N Fix scheduled for IBM Personal Communications 12.0.3.0 Refresh Pack.
