APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When pprc paths are setup for 5 or more source LSS to a single
  target LSS and a Recover or Flash command is run. This will lead
  to a path setup error due to it violates the path rule when
  going in reverse direction: Max 4 target LSSs for 1 source LSS.
  This may cause the data copied to I2 and H2 volumes to be
  inconsistent, since the Flash of I2-H2 is performed even when
  the global mirror failed full recovery due to the path setup
  problem.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• FLASH command fails in Global Mirror failover/failback session
  
  because there are more than 4 lss going into a single lss. This
  causes the failover to fail bcause a lss cannot have more than 4
  paths out.This causes 0F51 error which in turn causes the frr to
  fail with 0F85. However, the I2-H2 will still be flashed.
  

Problem conclusion

• The Flash command will now only flash if the H1-J2 sequence is
  consistent.
