APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • emgr run in nimadm scripts will fail with messages like :
aclput: Function not implemented
emgr: 0645-007 ATTENTION: aclput() returned an unexpected
result.
scripts run by nimadm are run in the chroot_env.
so they run on altinst filesystems mounted from the
client
using nfsv3. and nfsv3 doesn't support acls.

Local fix

  • If customer has necessary resources in nim master he can
use nimadm Local Disk Caching option to avoid use of
nfs.

Problem summary

  • During NIMADM migration install:

aclput: Function not implemented
emgr: 0645-007 ATTENTION: aclput() returned an unexpected
result.

Problem conclusion

  • The emgr elib is changed to provide wrapper functions for
aclput and aclget calls when on a filesystem that does not
support those commands.
