Abstract

This document describes how to download the installation images for IBM® SmartCloud® Virtual Storage Center Storage Analytics Engine V5.2.2 using Passport Advantage® Online website

Download Description

SmartCloud Virtual Storage Center Storage Analytics Engine provides comprehensive end-to-end storage management, including the capabilities available in the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center license.

Installation images on AIX

When you extract installation images, use the GNU tar program instead of the AIX tar program. The AIX tar program might truncate long file names, which can cause installation errors.

Go to http://www.ibm.com/systems/power/software/aix/linux/toolbox/alpha.html and install GNU tar 1.14 or later. You must specify this program as the default tar program in the PATH environment variable.

Downloading and assembling the product

  1. Log on to Passport Advantage.
  2. Click Customer sign in.
  3. Enter your IBM ID and password, and click Sign in.
  4. Click Software download and media access.
  5. Click Download finder, and then click View all my downloads.
  6. Navigate to find the SmartCloud Virtual Storage Center Storage Analytics Engine download parts.
  7. Select the SmartCloud Virtual Storage Center Storage Analytics Engine parts that you require. The parts are described by platform in the tabbed sections of this document.
  8. Click I Agree followed by Download Now.
  9. When the download is complete, unpack the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center Advanced part 1 and Tivoli Storage Productivity Center part 2 images to the same single temporary directory. Unpack all other parts into a separate temporary directory for each part or group of parts, as described in the following tables.
  10. (Optional) Use an MD5 compatible checksum utility to verify the integrity of the files you download. For instructions, see Running checksum to verify installation images.
  11. Follow the instructions in the IBM SmartCloud Virtual Storage Center Storage Analytics Engine V5.2.2 Quick Start Guide to install the product.

Extract these files into an empty temporary directory, in the order you see here.

CIX87ML IBM System Discovery Engine for Unix The System Discovery Engine is a component that provides Tivoli Storage Productivity Engine with the ability to perform credential-free network discovery of network attached systems and other devices.

Installation Instructions

Retrieve a copy of the <em> IBM SmartCloud Virtual Storage Center Storage Analytics Engine V5.2.2 Quick Start Guide</em>. The Quick Start Guide is available with the product and is included on the <em> IBM SmartCloud Virtual Storage Center Storage Analytics Engine V5.2.2 Quick Start Guide </em> DVD. Follow the instructions in the Quick Start Guide to install the product.
