Activating the QSYSWRK subsystem
The system job for a TCP/IP application must start in the QSYSWRK subsystem. The spooling subsystem, QSPL, needs to be active to run printer pass-through sessions.
To check the status of the QSYSWRK subsystem, complete the following
steps:
If the QSYSWRK subsystem is not active, complete the following steps:
- In the character-based interface, type
STRSBS
(Start subsystem). - Type
QSYSWRK
for the Subsystem description andQSYS
for the Library, then press Enter. - Repeat for Subsystem name
QINTER
with LibraryQSYS
and for Subsystem nameQSPL
and LibraryQSYS
.
If you do not know which subsystem to use for interactive jobs, type WRKSBSD *ALL in the character-based interface. The Work Station Type entries show you which device is allocated to a subsystem.
