Updating pattern types
Periodic updates are available for pattern types. You can download updates from IBM® Fix Central and then import the updated pattern types to Cloud Pak System Software from the console.
Before you begin
IBM Foundation Pattern must be updated before any other patterns can be updated.
You must be assigned the Create new catalog content role or the Workload resources administration role with Full permissions to complete this task.About this task
Restriction: Most browsers limit
uploads to around 2 GB. If the file for the pattern type exceeds this
limit, you might not be able to upload it by using the browser interface;
in this case, you must use the command-line interface.
Procedure
- Click Catalog, and select Pattern Types from the Components column.
- Click the New icon in the toolbar.
- Click Browse to select the .tgz file to import as a pattern type.
What to do next
You can verify that the pattern type is updated by viewing the pattern types in the user interface. Click Catalog, and select Pattern Types from the Components column. The pattern types are listed with the new version number.
If you download an update from Fix Central and import the file into the
system, you must accept the license agreement, and make the version.release (VR)
available. If you download a fix pack that includes updated pattern type and import the file into
the system, the new pattern type license is already accepted, and the pattern type is automatically
available.
Note: Only one version of the pattern can be active. To
use older versions of the pattern type, you must disable the current version.
