To define the InfoSphere®
DataStage® connection
to SAP:
Procedure
- Specify the SAP connection details:
- Application Server: The name of the R/3 server.
- System Number: The system number of the R/3 instance.
- Router String: Optional. The string used to connect to the remote SAP
server. If you use an SAP router to access your system, you must include a fully qualified node name
for your RFC server machine in the SAP router table.
- Select Use load balancing to use load balancing when
connecting to R/3. The Application Server and the System Number controls are replaced
by Message Server, System ID, and Group controls so that connection details
specific to load balancing can be entered (see Load Balancing).
From Pack version 8.2.0.4 onwards, you can also choose to provide the system or instance number
for the Message server by selecting Use System Number. On selecting this
button, the editor for defining System Number gets enabled whereas the
System ID gets disabled. The difference between these two options is that
when you use the System ID, you must configure the Message server service, see technote, 1574964. However, if you use the system number, the application
automatically decides the port as per rule, 36<NN> where NN is the instance or
the system number that is specified. In such cases, you are not required to configure the Message
server service.
- Specify the default SAP logon details:
- User Name: The name of the user for connecting to SAP.
- Password: The password for username.
- Client Number: The SAP client number.
- Language: The language that is used for connecting to SAP.
