Installing Version 11.3.1 Fix Pack 1

Version 11.3.1 Fix Pack 1 is available to install as a full installation of the InfoSphere Information Server suite or only the fix pack.
Full suite
This option is used for new installations of InfoSphere Information Server. For information about installing Version 11.3.1 Fix Pack 1 on a clean system, see this installation documentation.
Fix pack
This option is used to upgrade an existing installation of Version 11.3.0 or 11.3.1 to Version 11.3.1 Fix Pack 1. For information about installing Version 11.3.1 Fix Pack 1 on a system where Version 11.3.0 or 11.3.1 is already installed, see this installation documentation.

Uninstalling Version 11.3.1 Fix Pack 1

Version 11.3.1 Fix Pack 1 cannot be uninstalled. You must restore to your current backup, or uninstall and reinstall your InfoSphere Information Server, Version 11.3.1, installation to remove the fix pack. For detailed backup and restore instructions, see the knowledge center.

Limitations and problems for InfoSphere Information Server, Version 11.3.1 Fix Pack 1, are documented in technotes, which are available on the IBM Support Portal.

Before installing 11.3.1.1 (Fix Pack 1): Refer to FLASH 1699884 for steps that must be performed before installing 11.3.1.1 or before applying Fix Pack 1.
Important: InfoSphere Information Server, Version 11.3.1 Fix Pack 1, adds support for repositories on Oracle and SQL Server databases, which was first introduced in Version 11.3.1.
  • If you are upgrading from InfoSphere Information Server, Version 11.3.0 to Version 11.3.1 Fix Pack 1, there is a restriction on creating an InfoSphere DataStage and QualityStage operations database (DSODB). You cannot create a DSODB on either Oracle or SQL Server because the necessary scripts are not available for InfoSphere Information Server. If you require this capability, please contact IBM Support through normal channels.
  • If you are upgrading from Version 11.3.1 to 11.3.1.1, you are not affected.
