Before you migrate to a new version of IBM® InfoSphere Information Server, design the migration topology and collect the required information.

Installing the new version of InfoSphere Information Server
The order in which you install the various InfoSphere Information Server tiers is important. You must install the engine tier and services tier before you export InfoSphere Information Server from the source computer and import it to the target computer. You can install the client tier before or after you complete the migration process.
