IBM® InfoSphere® Information Server supports IBM WebSphere® Application Server Network Deployment as
a preinstalled application server. If you choose to preinstall an
application server, it must be WebSphere Application Server Network
Deployment and not IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty Profile.
Before you begin
The
WebSphere Application Server installation must satisfy the following requirements:
InfoSphere Information Server does not support WebSphere Application Server Extended Deployment (XD) or the WebSphere Application Server base
version.
About this task
This task describes installing IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment in
a non-cluster (stand-alone) installation.
For a cluster installation, see Implementing a WebSphere Application Server cluster for InfoSphere Information Server.
Note: If you preinstall IBM WebSphere Application Server and
install a separate front-end HTTP server, ensure that the HTTP server
is configured to enable WebSphere Application Server to
accept HTTPS calls.
Procedure
- Run the IBM WebSphere Application Server installation
program on the InfoSphere Information Server services
tier to install IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment.
Within the installation media, the WebSphere Application Server installation
program is at the following location:
Operating system |
Directory |
AIX® Solaris |
install_image_dir/payloads/Shared/WAS/payload/WAS/agentInstaller/install |
Linux® |
install_image_dir/payloads/Shared/WAS/payload/WAS/agentInstaller/install |
Windows |
install_image_dir\payloads\Shared\WAS\payload\WAS\agentInstaller\install.exe |
See the WebSphere Application Server documentation
for more information on installing the application server:
- Upgrade the Java™ Development
Kit (JDK) if it is not at the correct level. See Switching to Java Development Kit 1.7.
- Create a new application server profile
with administrative security disabled.
For information
about creating a profile, see the WebSphere Application Server documentation:
Note: If are installing IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment in
a clustered environment, the application server profile needs to have
the administrative security enabled.
- If the front-end HTTP server is not
already configured for HTTPS, manually configure it for HTTPS. Follow
the instructions in the WebSphere Application Server documentation:
- Install any required fix packs and interim fixes. To find
the supported fix pack level, Java software
development kit (SDK) fix number, and interim fixes that are required
for your installed version of IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment,
refer to the InfoSphere Information Server system
requirements page: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27042919.
Note: If you use the installation packages for the IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment software
that is included in the installation package, the fix packs and interim
fixes are automatically installed when you run the installation program.
