Enabling the generation of operational metadata at the project level (parallel and server jobs)

You can enable the generation of operational metadata at the project level in IBM® InfoSphere® DataStage® and QualityStage® server and parallel jobs.

About this task

When you run a job in the project, metadata is collected that describes the job run and the data warehouse resources that it affects. After the job runs, the OMDMonApp service imports this operational metadata into the metadata repository. You can analyze it in IBM InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog and report on the operational metadata in the Web console.

In the Director client, you can override the project-level setting for individual jobs.

Procedure

  1. Open the InfoSphere DataStage and QualityStage Administrator client.
  2. On the Projects page, select the project that you want to generate operational metadata for, and click Properties to open the Project Properties window.
  3. Select Generate operational metadata.
  4. Click OK.

What to do next

Whenever you run a job that is in the project, operational metadata is generated. For parallel and server jobs, you can override the default project-level setting before you run a job in InfoSphere DataStage and QualityStage Director.
